Let's get down to business. Who of us doesn't love looking like we got some sun, but also doesn't want to put our skin directly into it? Most of the time that is me as well.
Today I will be showing you my version of a sun kissed face or more of a healthy glow if you will. I have things that I have tried in the past that ended up making me look like I belonged on The Jersey Shore or My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding and I thought I would be nice to help you avoid the same mistakes.
As with all of the make up tips I have shared with all of you; this was all figured out in the trial and error process. I am sure you are so tired of me saying that all the time, but it's true.
Step 1. You guessed it, moisturize.
Step 2. I found during the summer that by noon my make up was running off my face. (Oh Southern living.) So, I added a step to my everyday routine. I added a face/make up primer. Yes, just like the walls in your house, your make up will do much better on those hot summer days with a thin amount of primer applied before hand.
This is a off brand primer that I got off of my Wish App. I like it because it is thin, soft, and smells yummy. Oh, and it was only a dollar.
Step 3. I applied the green anti-red cream to certain areas of my face. Mainly because I didn't take my own advise and for got to reapply my sunscreen, and I have big pimples on my upper lip that are just to sexy to share with the rest of the world. (My husband is oh so lucky.)
Step 4. Using an egg shaped make up sponge I applied red lipstick and concealer under my eyes because I have had a sick 1 year only and sleep is a stranger to me know. Plus, it makes me look more awake even if I do get a decent night sleep.
Step 5. Foundation. Just the same old way I always put it on. Round latex free sponge and the back of my hand to make sure that the make up and my skin are the same temperature.
Fun fact for all of those who want their make up to look more natural and less clean lines. Use your fingers to apply your foundation. It sounds crazy, but it has something to do with the skin on skin application. Crazy right?
Step 5. This is where the sun kissed really comes into play. I took a small contouring blending brush, you can get at any drug/make up counter, and I applied a darker line of bronzer from, you know when you open your jaw and you feel the joint? Right there, that is where I started to apply and then I went half way down my under my cheek bone. I then took that same brush and applied a heavier amount of bronzer around my hair line. Don't go to heavy or you will get that Jersey Shore look I was mentioning before. I took the blending brush, and in a circular motion, blended the heavier bronzer in. I still applied the rest of the bronzer in the normal areas.
I know it is hard to tell because of the lighting. I am staying in our camping trailer right now so I can only get what I get when it comes to the pictures.
Step 6. I used the gold toned color from my HIGHLIGHT TRIO palate that I got from #myipsyglambag last month and it is probably one of my favorite things that I have gotten from them. I used my angle brush from E.L.F and apply a triangle shape on the top of my cheek/inside of my nose and then dragged it across the rest of the top of the cheek. Confusing right? Don't worry, there are pictures to help. I then applied the rest of the gold toned highlighter down the middle of my nose, the middle of my eye brows, tip of chin, and above/under my eye brows.
Step 7. This is where I would normally put on blush. Instead I used a rose colored bronzer on my cheeks, and pretty much on the rest of my face. I did this because it brought that sun kissed look home. The stuff I used is called Escaped by the Blam. It is one of my newest products that I have gotten from the Wish app that I love. One being that it is a non drug store named product, and two, instead of paying $35 dollars at the counter I payed $6 and yes that includes shipping.
Step 8. Apply the rest of the make up as needed. I recommend doing a light gold color for the eye shadow and medium brown pencil or powder eyeliner. I also finished my look with just a wet looking lip. No high gloss or bright colors.
I promise I will get a better picture of the sun kissed look later this week. Lighting was not my friend for this post. Sorry.
There you have it folks an easy clean way to give your skin a healthy glow with out have to be unhealthy about it.
Remember readers, I may be a jack of this trade, but I am a master of none.
